• Ultra-high-field MRI and Image Analysis for Improving the Management of Osteoarthritis.

  This led to a BIRCWH Award.
• Ultrashort Echo Time MRI of the Achilles Tendon at 7T.
  Misung Han, PhD, Postdoctoral Scholar, UC San Francisco, $3,000
  This led to an R01 grant submission by Dr. Roland Krug.
• Static and Dynamic Knee Alignment, Muscle Balance and Cartilage Composition in Young Adults.
  Deepak Kumar, PhD, Postdoctoral Scholar, UC San Francisco, $4,940
  This led to career development. Dr. Kumar is currently a Assistant Professor at The Medical University of South Carolina. 
• Quantitative MRI of Articular Cartilage in a Guinea Pig OA Model: Measurement of T1ρ Dispersion and T2 at 7T.
  Gerd Melkus, PhD, Postdoctoral Scholar, UC San Francisco, $9,981.50
  This led to career development. Dr. Melkus is currently a Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa.
• Development of Cartilage T1ρ/T2 Imaging at 7 Tesla and Comparison to 3 Tesla.
  Cory Wyatt, PhD, Postdoctoral Scholar, UC San Francisco, $4,815
  This led to career development and extramural funding. Dr. Wyatt is currently a research associate at Oregon Health and Science University.  This research development also led to 7T imaging funding with GE.
